Trace Adkins coming to a TV near you
Donald Trump is bringing back his tv show "The Apprentice" but this time around it's going to be a celebrity version. The celebs (some famous, and some not so famous) won't be playing towards a job with Trump, but will be playing for money to donate to a charity of their choice.

I had a hard time finding the names of all 14 contestants until I found this article. Towards the bottom it has a btw mention of the rest of the contestants.

The Celebs
Omarosa (the first season of the show back in 2004)
Vincent Pastore (aka "Big Pussy" from "The Sopranos")
Stephen Baldwin
Gene Simmons of Kiss
Nely Galan (former entertainment president of the Telemundo network & executive producer (and "life coach") of "The Swan")
Marilu Henner (from the sitcom "Taxi")
Carol Alt (Actress-model)
Trace Adkins (to the country fans he's a well known celebrity!)
Nadia Comaneci (Olympic gymnastics gold medalist)
Tiffany Fallon (Playboy Playmate of the Year)
Jennie Finch (Olympic softball gold medalist)
Lennox Lewis (heavyweight boxing champ)
Piers Morgan ("America's Got Talent" judge)
Tito Ortiz (Ultimate Fighting Champion)

Celebrity Apprentice started taping back in Mid-October and it's set to debut Jan. 3 on NBC. So check your local listings as it get closer if you want to see how far Trace Adkins (or any of the other celebs) get in the show.

Garth concert review
For my college's paper, I reviewed the Garth Brooks concert and I thought you guys might enjoy it! I also took somewhere around 400 pictures so when I sort through those, I'll make sure to post a smattering of them.

So, basically I read an article about how for this year's CMAs the big battle for Female Vocalist Of The Year would be between Carrie Underwood and Reba McEntire. And so I decided to create a poll just to get an idea. I know the CMAs aren't based on fan votes, but I just want to compare the ratio of Reba fans to Carrie fans. It wouldn't be fair to just leave the poll open the my friends list, because it's mostly Reba fans, so I made it public and am posting it.

Go vote!

Looking for song suggestions for a vid.
Hey everyone. :)

I need your help with a song. I am making a vid featuring Eric and Tami Taylor from Friday Night Lights the tv show. If you are not familiar with the couple....here is a link to a short clip from the show that more or less sums up their relationship. :p

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o0deeIiAKug

Since I am an avid country music fan, I want to use a country song. I was thinking of an edited "I Need You" by Tim & Faith or Alan Jackson's "A Woman's Love".  Any other suggestions?

The couple's relationship is very mature and committed- there is a bit of bickering between them as there is for all couples, but they rely heavily on one another for advice and support. Tami believes in Eric COMPLETELY and they seem to be best friends. Tami is Eric's rock...his one true love.

Thanks for any suggestions you can give me to help me choose the best song. :)

Tickets for the KC event
If you're bummed that you missed out on Garth tickets (like I was), check Ticketmaster. I logged on this morning and managed to snag two tickets for Wednesday, November 7.

I'm in section 223, Row 2! So yes, don't give up hope! It could just be that Ticketmaster was so overloaded yesterday that all the tickets weren't bought up.

:runs around screaming her MOTHER EFFING head off!:
I knew you guys would appreciate this:

My favorite artist of ALL TIME, GARTH BROOKS, is going to be IN CONCERT in Kansas City the week before my birthday!!!!

I never got to see him in concert because I was only 13 when he retired and my parents thought I was too young to go to a concert at that age.

STILL! GARTH BROOKS!!!! And since I only live two hours away from KC, it's not all that crazy for me to actually go to this thing.

I am. So. EXCITED. I'm so buying tickets the NANOSECOND they come out because I want the best seat possible.

ACK!!!

Oh dear.
I'm a little offended here, so if it shows too much, I apologize. I'm a member of the ohnotheydidnt and just posted was an article about Jessica Simpson... deciding to go country. She's not that great of a singer, she's even worse as an actress (IMHO)... Ugh.

Here's the article:

Jessica Simpson is ready to add another accessory to her always-stylish look – a cowboy hat.

The singer is "talking about doing a country record and going back to her roots, being from Texas," Jessica's father and manager, Joe Simpson, told PEOPLE at Hard Rock Hotel's Rolling Stone party in Las Vegas.

"Everything in our business is about beats and I think she really wants to sing," he said, "and country music still believes in that."

Simpson, 27, recently finished filming Major Movie Star and is turning her thoughts back to her music. Her last album, 2006's "Public Affair," hit the Top 20, but quickly fell off the charts.

"She's a singer from top to bottom," Joe Simpson said. "And everything in the music business, especially pop music, has moved away from singers. And I think country is the the only pure, storytelling kind of genre left."

On whether she will be accepted among country fans, he said, "She's from Texas. How could she not?"

source

That last line really irritates me for some reason. Just because she's from Texas, country music fans are going to love her? Does that mean everyone from Texas automatically loves George Bush too? :P

Sorry to sound ranty, but I couldn't think of a better place to post this and discuss.

In happy news, I CAN'T WAIT FOR GARTH'S NEW CD!

Hi!
Hello everyone! I was wondering if any of you could help me out, I'm trying to do an icon post of country musicians BUT unfortunately I have dial up and don't know where to get images of these artists. My question to you all is can you post your favorite artists? As long as the images aren't larger than 1500 pixels in height, I should be fine. Thank you so much! In particular I'm looking for images of the following artists:

ListCollapse )

Also, if there are any icon makers here, I'd like to encourage you to join the only stillness community for country fans. We are currently on our first challenge and in need of entries.

check out this big & rich video!

NBC is now archiving footage from the performance on Leno and putting it on their website, bands like Maroon 5, Taylor Hicks and of course Big & Rich J.  So if you missed a set it is probably here: http://www.nbc.com/The_Tonight_Show_with_Jay_Leno/Toyota_Concert_Series/bands/Big_and_Rich.shtml

Hey Everyone!

This has been driving me mad. During the end credits to the movie Coyote Ugly, Leann Rimes sings a tune that I KNOW I've heard before, but have no clue what it is. The're only one word I can remember from it (I hope it's a key word, haha!).

It starts: Tiiiime....

It's a slow song, and it sort of sounds like a mix between Feels Like Home (not her song, Chantal Kreviazuk's) and How Do I Live.

Can anyone help me?

My brain will explode if I dont figure this out!
